Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Automotive Mechanic/Technician in San ANtonio, TX! The Automotive Mechanic will be responsible for timely repair and maintenance of light and medium fleet vehicles to ensure a safe and efficient operation.

Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday!

Shift: Monday- Friday 2:00PM - 11:00PM

What the Automotive Mechanic/Technician role looks like:

• Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to vehicles
• Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare required safety documentation

What our ideal candidate looks like:

• At least 3-5 years experience as an Automotive Mechanic/Technician performing vehicle repair and maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school.
• Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
• Excellent communication skills and proficient computer skills
• Must have own tools
• Must have valid driver's license

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to light to medium duty vehicles
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles
• Interact with clients through both email or phone as necessary
• Perform other duties as required

Key Competencies and Minimum Education

• At least 3-5 years experience performing vehicle maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school
• Must have valid Drivers License- Class C
• Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
• Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
• Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
• Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
• Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
• Ability to move and position heavy objects
• Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
