Under general direction of the Director/Manager – Corporate Accounting, responsible for the preparation of journal entries, reconciliation and maintenance of general ledger accounts, preparation of specified accounting records for month end closing, and analysis. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyze monthly financial reports, journal entry preparation and postings to the general ledger for various accounts. Responsible for month end closing to include analysis, review, and research related to revenue, gross profit, operating expense, and operating income, along with preparation of related adjusting journal entries and final reporting. Generate and analyze various trending reports and research inconsistencies, providing explanations of trending deltas to management. Responsible for general ledger maintenance, general ledger account reconciliation, and certain subledger reconciliations. Research and resolve various inventory related adjustments and/or costing variances. Research various elements within process flows including procure to pay, plan to distribute, and order to cash (PO process, AP, Inventory, Revenue, AR, COGS, etc.). Support internal and external audits by providing needed documentation as well as maintaining all necessary SOX controls. Provide support for annual physical inventories at distribution centers as needed. Work toward improving existing processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness May review customer and vendor contracts and billings. Prepare other special analysis as required. Generate ad hoc accounting reports as needed. Act as liaison by coordinating accounting matters between regional accounting, divisional associates, and other department managers. Perform related duties as assigned. What your background should look like EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor's Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education; Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and CPA preferred. Normally requires a minimum of four (4) years directly related and progressively responsible experience. MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of accounting practices and principles Working knowledge of accounting and planning software packages Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Strong interpersonal skills Strong mathematical and analytical skills Strong organizational skills; attention to detail Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Knowledge of SAP and Business Objects preferred What AmerisourceBergen offers We offer a competitive total rewards package which includes benefits and compensation. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
