Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Technician at AmeriMed, you will play an integral role in the pharmacy operations. At AmeriMed you will utilize your clinical knowledge to assist pharmacist with providing safe and appropriate infusion therapies to be administered to our patients in their homes.

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist you will:

• Communicate directly with patients over the telephone to obtain supply, enteral and medication needs for refills.
• Assists with retrieval and documentation of lab results as needed for patient assessment.
• Assists with picking supplies for patient deliveries.
• Accurately calibrate pharmacy equipment.
• Under direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist you will be working in the clean room preparing and compounding specialized therapies using aseptic technique.
• Assist with performing daily temperature checks on refrigerators, freezer and drug storage areas recording and maintaining temperature logs.
• Cleans the pharmacy and compounding area.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Active Pharmacy Technician registration with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy required.
• Active ExCPT Certification provided by the National Healthcareer Association; or CPhT Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required, or willing to obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
• Two years Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
• IV compounding experience preferred.
• Understand and perform basic pharmaceutical calculations in order to obtain correct doses of medications.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Availability for full-time, regular day time hours.
• Participate in on call rotation as indicated by staffing and business needs.
