Americor is Hiring an Instructional Designer Near Meridian, ID

The Instructional Designer will work closely with the Sales and Client Services departments, as well as offer support to other various teams such as Operations, Negotiations, Lending and Compliance. This role is responsible for updating and enhancing current training curricula as well as helping to design and develop new training programs with a hybrid approach for in-house and remote employee learning, including instructor-led training, eLearning, and virtual delivery. Working with leadership and subject matter experts, this position will conduct needs assessments, provide instructional materials, facilitate train-the-trainer sessions, ensure programs are being implemented across the business units, and conduct content and learning evaluations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts needs analysis, task analysis, audience analysis, and focus groups to determine learning objectives and the appropriate instructional strategies and delivery methods for training requests
  • Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) or internal team members to design, develop, and implement creative learning solutions that ensure mastery of learning objectives and learner retention
  • Outlines and creates evaluation and assessment strategies for learning solutions to include surveys, testing, and other measurement strategies; Kirkpatrick model or equivalent
  • Creates and maintains a variety of learning materials including eLearning courses, demonstrations, simulations, videos, scenarios, case studies, exercises, workbooks, instructor and participant guides, slideshow decks, scripts, quick references, job aids, and knowledge checks
  • Creates storyboards for e-Learning courses to include scripts, scenarios, visuals, and interactive elements used to engage and enhance the learner experience
  • Develops e-Learning courses using Articulate 360: Storyline and/or Rise, and develops videos using Camtasia or other related video editing programs
  • Establishes, influences, and communicates guidelines and recommendations for processes and procedures related to instructional design, content development, and project management
  • Ensures that all educational materials adhere to design standards
  • Ensures that all final videos, e-Learning and documents are provided to the Learning Management System and/or LMS Administrator for loading and testing prior to distribution
  • Collects, consolidates, and revises eLearning module feedback prior to releasing
  • Prepares assessment, survey, and evaluation reports, performs administrative and other assigned duties as required
  • Remain current on relevant policies & procedures, other internal documentation in our content management and knowledge management systems, and trends (This includes attending key meetings and periodically checking in with stakeholders across the company)
  • Recognize common problem topics or activities within the curricula and coordinate with the Sr. Manager of Learning & Development to develop a recommended strategy for improving curricula design, materials, and/or facilitation strategies

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5-7 years experience as an Instructional Designer/Developer in a corporate or consulting environment
  • Proven written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; strong active listening skills
  • Basic project management and time management skills; comfortable multitasking and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to help reimagine learning products and take a creative approach to garnering employee engagement
  • Experience with visual design principles including images, graphics, and video
  • Knowledge of organizational behavior, adult learning principles such ADDIE, training, and development techniques
  • Self-starter comfortable in fast-paced and time-critical environment
  • Enthusiastically collaborate and brainstorm with fellow L&D team members to increase team knowledge of training products and tools, as well as to grow peer relationships and effectively work together as a whole
  • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook with advanced design skills in PowerPoint; knowledge of Google G-Suite
  • Experience using a Learning Management System/LMS (OnCourse LMS is a plus)
  • Knowledge of virtual training tools such as Zoom and Google Meet and familiarity with features used to engage learners
  • Skilled in gathering information and insights by interviewing groups and/or individuals
  • Ability to measure and analyze the training effectiveness, evaluate training results data, and provide evidence of the ROI of the sales training program
  • Experience designing and developing advanced eLearning authoring tools such as Captivate, Articulate, Storyline, Camtasia, or other relevant programs and software
  • Experience with a CRM is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with Adobe tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) preferred, but not required
  • Experience within the financial services industry is a plus
  • Experience in a sales environment is a plus

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design/Technology, Education, Communications, English, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design or related field a plus, but not required
