This position is responsible for insuring the accuracy and integrity of many of the core asset accounts for ATA and related entities through reconciliations, financial entries, unclaimed property management, and problem solving. The position interacts with others in the department, most ATA staff, external auditors and bank representatives as well as ATA vendors. This position has no supervisory duties. This position is has no budgetary responsibilities. The incumbent is expected to adhere to company policy and procedures, promote and foster a team-based work environment. He/She will demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and have the ability to manage and prioritize workload. He/She will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional disposition. He/She must consistently report to work on time prepared to perform duties of the position. CORE FUNCTIONS: Audits data, initiates journal entries and performs reconciliations to ensure accurate financial information particularly for cash, clearing and payroll accounts for all ATA and ATA managed entities.Manages data, correspondence and filings for unclaimed property of the organization to meet legal requirements by tracking uncashed checks, customer credit balances and other unclaimed property, corresponding with property owners, researching and resolving issues, monitoring filing and reporting requirements in all the states, and filing annual reports timely and accurately.Audits accounts and researches problem issues and makes recommendations for resolutions and process improvements to help ensure financial controls are maintained.Monitors bank account and credit card transaction activity and resolves disputes and variances.BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS: Education/Relevant Experience-BS/BA degree in Accounting or 2-3 years of General Ledger Accounting experience required.Skill Requirements-Must be able to work independently to meet deadlines for multiple tasks. Must be organized and attentive to detail. Facility with MS Excel at an intermediate or advance level and experience with General Ledger software required. Familiarity with MS Word and 10-key adding machine necessary. Familiarity with Solomon and/or Ceridian a plus.
