Position: Staff Engineer

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Are you looking to jumpstart your career? American Structurepoint, Inc. seeks Traffic Staff Engineer-Multiple Openings in Indianapolis, IN. Hybrid position allowing for work from home 1 day per week after 1 year of service. Perform highway design related tasks in order to produce a set of construction plans & exposure to a variety of traffic transportation engineering using a multitude of technologies. Utilize computer software packages in order to automate design process. Work with CAD technicians to produce a final set of construction drawings. Assist with maintaining design book & correspondence files for each project. Stay current with Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) design manual, design memos & consultant information bulletins. Maintain electronic files & plan organization & archiving. Assist the project manager in attending meetings & field checks & preparing meeting minutes. Work on the different facets of design & plan preparation with constant interaction with multiple levels of staff within the organization. This position uses traffic analysis software and CAD. Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Traffic Signal Design & understanding of various DOT & MUTCD requirements;
• Traffic Signal Lighting Design & understanding of various DOT & AASHTO requirements;
• Private Sector & Public Sector Traffic Studies; Traffic Data Collection, coordination required with outside firms to provide material information required for job needs;
• Interstate Highways Congestion Policy (IHCP) Exception Documentation; & Traffic Management Plan (TMP) Development.
• Geometric design, drainage design, permitting, signing and pavement marking design
