Description

American Reading Company (ARC) is seeking a positive and driven individual to join our HR team. The Human Resource Operations Coordinator will run certain daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including recruiting, sourcing, hiring and interviewing staff, supporting HR administration functions, and ensuring company policies and practices are followed.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate all phases of the recruitment process; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  •  Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization
  • Build relationships to develop a robust talent pipeline for future hiring needs
  • Assist with job postings and advertisement processes 
  • Prospect for qualified candidates through a variety of indirect and direct methods such as conducting cold calls, research-based sourcing, and internet and web-based recruiting
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Reviews track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment and HR
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other systems
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, etc.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes continuous learning

Requirements

  • At least one year in recruiting, sourcing, hiring, or similar experience or at least one year of human resource management experience highly preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Vietnamese is a plus
  • Ability to learn new technology
  • Must provide proof of both primary COVID-19 vaccination and booster
