Because of expansive growth American Power & Gas is seeking a Database Administrator to add to our technical team. This is a fulltime permanent on-site role.

Basic Requirements to function as a Database Administrator:

• Strong familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (2019 experience a plus)
• Excellent knowledge of index composition, seek and scan, parameter sniffing, index best practices
• Excellent knowledge of index optimization, reorganization, and rebuild best practices
• Knowledge of redundancy protocols, log shipping, replication, clustering, and fail overs
• Strong knowledge of SQL server system tables, procedures, and tools
• Strong SQL server relational database modeling best practices knowledge
• Strong Microsoft Visual Studio (SSIS) experience
• SQL server programming background (stored procedure creation and debug, understanding data management protocols and UI interaction) preferred
• Understanding of SQL certificates as used for certificate signing and encryption/decryption protocols preferred
• Familiarity with SQL server migrations preferred
