Summary: Currently seeking a Research Associate to join our scientific research team at the American Red Cross Holland Laboratory in Rockville, Maryland. This is a full-time, on-site position. The qualified candidate should be comfortable working independently, and the ability to work in a small team environment. Responsibilities: Participates in complex research or development studies both independently and in collaboration with research teams. Planning and executing experiments according to study protocol. Maintains accurate and detailed records of experimental results and analyses. Reviews study progress and evaluate results. Maintains laboratory equipment and operating procedures; contributes to process improvements. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific discipline and a minimum of three years of relevant laboratory work experience. Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or Biochemistry is desirable. Experience in the area of blood banking, hematology, flow cytometry, or transfusion medicine is desirable. Proficiency in laboratory methods, attention to detail, ability to recognize discrepancies in results. Good documentation skills, well organized, ability to communicate effectively.
