American National Bank and Trust Company is Hiring a Fraud Analyst I Near Danville, VA

Description

The Fraud Analyst I assists in the fight to protect bank and customer assets against fraud, money laundering, and other illicit financial crimes. Identifies fraud using Bank’s fraud monitoring software. Creates, investigates and monitors active fraud cases. Prepares reports on fraud and fraud systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  1. Monitors customer transactions using fraud monitoring software.
  2. Identifies potentially fraudulent transactions and interacts with customers and bank personnel to determine action.
  3. Initiates, investigates and monitors active fraud cases.
  4. Escalates cases as needed.
  5. Resolves and closes fraud cases.
  6. Clearly documents actions taken.
  7. Identifies and communicates fraud trends across or within accounts.
  8. Directs and supports internal bank employees on fraud related events.
  9. Maintains a thorough knowledge of all American National Bank products, services, procedures, policies and appropriate regulatory issues relating to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy; Fair Lending; Regulation E; deposit, transaction and loan accounts.
  10. May need to periodically travel to various banking locations or other sites.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. Strong analytical and investigative skills required.
  2. Interacts and communicates effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  4. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  5. Proven experience working in a team environment.
  6. Valid driver’s license required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Associates Degree in Business or related field, or relevant work experience.
  2. 3-5 years’ of banking experience. 
  3. Experience in identifying or handling fraud.
