This Job:Title : Senior Accountant
You'll Report to : Chief Financial Officer
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for internal controls, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and technical accounting research. He/she will maintain accounting records, develop financial statements and reports, assist various entities in interpreting the financial reports, and assist in the preparation of financial reports for the executive team, the Office of Insurance Regulation, auditors, banking entities, and reinsurers.
What Youll Do:Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business, or other related field from a four-year institution. The bachelor's degree is a minimum educational requirement for this position, and cannot be waived.
Experience: 4 to 7 years in an accounting or auditing role in the property and casualty insurance industry . The ideal candidate will have knowledge with both GAAP and statutory accounting principles.
Skills & Knowledge:
Working Conditions : Normal business office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of time while constantly operating a computer and or other office productivity machinery such as a calculator or telephone. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery or communicate with coworkers.
Hours and Location: 8:30 - 5:30 Monday through Friday. This role is on-site in our headquarters in Tampa, FL. #LI-Onsite
Travel: None required.
