American Gaming Systems is Hiring a Senior Artist (FT) Near North Sydney, MA
AGS is a fun, exciting, and growing company focused on making amazing slot machine games. What is a slot machine game you ask? Well it’s like an Xbox video game except people can win real money.
- Making games with a diverse team of Game Designers, Artists, Animators, Sound Designers and Software Engineers.
- Creating graphic compositions, logos, symbol illustrations, functional UIs.
- Working closely with the Art Director and taking direction as followed.
- Brainstorming and conceptualizing ideas (producing concept sketches and quick concept edits).
- Provide mentorship to other artists and animators in the team.
- Collaborating with art team regarding best practices and processes relating to game development.
- Contributing to process improvements to increase productivity and the visual quality of the games.
- Keeping abreast of new graphic techniques, trends and styles in the industry.
- Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years of professional experience in a related field.
- Excellent communication skills and organizational skills.
- Highly proficient in Adobe Photoshop.
- Excellent knowledge of design basics (lighting, composition, perspective, texturing, colors, etc.)
- Ability to create art for all game aspects (screen layout, symbol sets, etc.) with minimal guidance.
- Ability to provide digital illustrations in layers and optimized to compliment the animation workflow.
- Understand how to design art for various themes and platforms.
- Strong work ethics and professionalism.
- Ability to work under pressure and complete assigned tasks on time.
- Follow guidelines and directions from various disciplines in a studio environment.
- Strong customer focused mind.
- Have traditional 2D animation experience.
- Have previous slot gaming industry experience.
- After Effects and Alienbrain experience is a plus.
- Have experience using Blender or a 3D software package.
- Can take and give constructive feedback.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously and be flexible to the ever-changing environment of a fast-growing company.
- Be self-motivated and proactive to get stuff done.
