American Foods Group, LLC is Hiring a HR Business Partner Near Eden Prairie, MN

JOB SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the VP of Total Rewards, Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for the delivery and implementation of a full range of HR services including, recruitment, hiring, development, employee relations, as well as compliance with established human resource policies, processes, systems, and applicable laws and regulations. The HRBP will collaborate with COEs and the business to implement HR initiatives in line with the organization’s strategic objectives. 

As our Human Resource Business Partner you will:

  • Provide guidance and HR support for all stages of the Employee Lifecycle from attraction of talent to offboarding. This includes all job responsibilities from drafting of employment letters to separation agreements.
  • Manage employee exit process, including communications, documentation, exit interviews and reporting/analysis.
  • Recruitment & Retention - Partner with Recruiting to ensure a conscious, deliberate approach to attracting and retaining top talent from both inside and outside the organization.
  • Manage and maintain legal and company compliance in all HR departmental activities including recruitment and hiring steps, I-9 verification, training programs, and various reporting requirements.
  • Conduct weekly orientation and onboarding for new hires.
  • Partner with Payroll to ensure all hourly and salary pay periods are accurate and timely.
  • Assist employees on understanding health and welfare benefit options and conduct annual Open Enrollment meetings as needed.
  • Serve as general advisor on state, federal, and local employment law. Specifically, partner with COEs to ensure compliance with governmental regulations, such as: Affirmative Action (AAPs), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), etc.
  • Identify people related operational improvement opportunities and collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (COE) and business unit leaders to develop and implement improvement plans.
  • With the guidance of the VP of Total Rewards, partner with supervisors and managers across multiple locations to identify, discuss, and/or resolve employee relations issues and concerns.
  • Support HR decisioning by leveraging data to make fact-based decisions that enable the business to achieve its objectives.
  • Update human resources systems, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee information. Maintain data integrity and provide reporting from multiple sources including UKG and individuals related to headcount and other related data.
  • Effectively manage, communicate, and build relationships with a culturally diverse hourly and salaried workforce.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent to 5 years in Human Resources or related field.
  • Knowledge of current human resources rules, regulations, laws, principles, practices, and policies related to administration of all aspects of human resources (i.e., Employee Relations, Staffing, Compensation and Benefits).
  • Ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks, differentiate among competing demands, and to work under time pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Project management and change management knowledge and skills.
  • Demonstrates solid judgment and experience assessing risk relative to the business.
  • High level of knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including federal and state.

  • Disciplined problem-solving skills and ability to execute solutions; proactive and able to connect the dots and willing to take initiative.
  • Strong employee service focus, demonstrating the ability to prioritize quality and employee experience.
  • Proven ability to manage tasks with competing priorities and deadlines, independently determining order of priority and self-initiating other value-added tasks.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with UKG a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, with a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with all levels of management, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with and resolve ambiguous, confidential, and sensitive situations and issues of a complex nature while providing flexible solutions.
  • Critical thinking skills including, logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Organized, with a sense of urgency and the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, cross-functional teamwork environment.
  • Ability to travel 15-20% domestically.
  • All positions have an essential job function to be able to perform face-to-face work with colleagues onsite in office located in Eden Prairie, MN.
