The American Express Brand Team is responsible for building a great connection with existing customers and prospects by connecting to the hearts and minds of Australians. The brand team in consultation with the Global Marketing team, is responsible for championing the brand in the AUNZ market across Consumer and Business.
There is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic & passionate marketer to join the American Express Brand & Experiences team. Reporting into the Assistant Brand Manager, the successful candidate will partner closely with the Brand team to deliver growth of the American Express brand across Australia and New Zealand. We are looking for a keen and insightful Marketing Coordinator who understands the importance of brand in driving business outcomes.
The Brand Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in partnering with a high-performing team to deploy a significant brand investment in the region across all ATL channels. The team are responsible for delivering to brand consideration lifts and driving brand measurement plans. They will need strong stakeholder management skills with experience working across a matrixed organisation highly regarded. A creative thinker who is calm under pressure and has a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude to join our small but mighty team.
This role is specifically responsible for:
Reporting into the Assistant Brand Manager, in a team of 4 colleagues, you will support the full year Brand strategy & campaign delivery, with a focus on ATL media channels
Additionally, the role of the Brand team at American Express is to protect our brand across all internal and external touchpoints and ensure the communications we put out as a business maintain our high standards of excellence. This role is also responsible for assisting in managing the internal content approval process and supporting all lines of business to drive best practise communications and excellence
The successful candidate will help support the Brand team on the following core tasks:
E2E Campaign execution across ATL media channels (Social, Digital, OOH, Audio, Print, Content) for Brand & Experiences campaigns
Support in deploying test and learn plans across social and digital
Day to day agency management and work with the 5 core agency partners to bring to life the brand strategy - including WIP’s, project plans and budgets (lead IAT WIP admin tasks)
Ability to influence on creative direction and execution
Partner with Global Brand Team with on-going brand guidelines updates & ensuring best-in-class on brand approach across ANZ business
Ability to deliver constructive feedback to creative agencies and ensure best practice is achieved
Extract balanced feedback across local and central teams, ensuring creative & media output is aligned to Brand strategy
Ability to optimise internal process as business needs evolve and bring innovative thinking to existing process
Campaign reporting – reporting back to the Assistant Brand Manager on respective campaign performance and how to best optimise creative moving forward
Experience on tagging and tracking, ensuring measurement plans are being set up correctly
Lead Brand review process for enterprise-wide assets via internal iMH platform
Leading Brand Guardianship across Enterprise and act as the internal face of the Brand team for all Brand related enquiries from across the business & agency partners
Partner with Brand team on continuing to foster direct relationships with Media partners to unlock additional value for Amex
Play key role in Colleague Engagement Survey (CES) team for VP remit to drive positive colleague engagement metrics forward
Candidate Skills & Experience:
Tertiary qualification in marketing or business discipline preferred
1-2 years’ experience in marketing and campaign management highly regarded
Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously adhering to timelines, competing priorities, a self-motivator who takes initiative when faced with a challenge
Customer focused with the ability to build effective internal partnerships
Agency management experience highly regarded
Strong stakeholder management skills including working with compliance and legal teams, peers, senior management and central stakeholders
Build relationships across internal teams but also foster positive and productive relationship with agencies and ensure deliverables are being met
Budget management experience and excel
Ability to optimise internal process as business needs evolve and bring innovative thinking to existing process
Team player who is proactive, flexible with a positive attitude
Results oriented with excellent organisational skills
Excellent written & oral communications skills
Strong attention to detail – ability to think through and understand marketing campaign constructs and customer journeys to ensure flawless execution; ensure all content is ‘on brand’ and passes our high brand standards
