We are seeking a director to lead the team in Credit and Fraud Risk responsible for GCS's New Account Underwriting Decisions. The incumbent will be responsible for driving profitable growth via Cross-Sell Risk Strategies for commercial portfolio. The position will report into the Vice President, ‘U.S. Corporate New Accounts and Obligor Cross-Sell Risk Strategies’ and will need to work with various business partners in targeting, marketing, product, technology, risk, and banking. To succeed in the role, the incumbent needs to have a very good blend of analytical skills, process expertise, project management, relationship building, and people leadership skills. The role represents tremendous opportunity for someone who is passionate to innovate and deliver in a highly collaborative environment
Key responsibilities:
- Create a vision for an optimal onboarding experience for businesses having a relationship with the Amex franchise
- Develop profitable segments for Commercial Underwriting for existing customers
- Explore and evaluate newer/non-traditional data sources to identify growth opportunities
- Develop deep functional expertise to position the work to cross functional partners for multiple use cases across the enterprise
- Develop and monitor key risk indicators to understand emerging trends and potential obstacles to growth
- Build strong cross functional relations with - Marketing, Sales, Decision Science, Technology, Compliance, and other Risk teams
- Bring strategic thought leadership with strong analytical acuity
- Effective and independent case by case decision making on Client onboarding decisions
- Ensure control, compliance, and operational risk mitigation in all lending processes, and design for a streamlined user experience across customer touch points.
- Lead, engage, and inspire a diverse team of risk management professionals
- Work with business partners to enhance value proposition, improve customer experience, and strengthen operational controls
Qualifications
- 6 or more years’ experience in risk management in a Financial Service company.
- Understanding of the key components of Commercial Risk Underwriting
- Experience with non-traditional data sources is a plus
- Strong people leader and excellent teammate with a validated ability to develop team members and build highly effective and collaborative culture
- Strong relationship management and consistent record of positively collaborating with diverse set of partners
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written to all levels of the organization
- The ability to bring structure to ambiguous areas of opportunity and thrive in an unstructured, fast paced environment
Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually bonus benefits
