The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), part of Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC), provides end-to-end support and oversight of global financial crimes investigations.In conjunction with GFCC partners, the FIU develops and implements automated transaction monitoring rules, reports, and other processes designed to identify activity potentially indicative of criminal behavior.The FIU also investigates potentially suspicious financial activity and, when appropriate, files suspicious activity reports (SARs) with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), which is part of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and/or refers matters to internal compliance partners for review and reporting globally.In addition, the FIU manages risk associated with politically exposed persons and persons and entities on core sanctions and risk lists through regular screening, and manages risk associated with improper payments that could be indicative of bribery, corruption, or other illicit activity by reviewing internal American Express payments and expenditures.The FIU performs a critical role in ensuring that American Express complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and provides law enforcement with key information for the investigation and prosecution of money laundering and terrorist financing, credit card fraud, identity theft, and other criminal activity.

Overview:

The Compliance Training Analyst will be a member of the GFCC Procedures, Guidance, and Training (PGT) team and be responsible for partnering with other members of PGT, subject matter experts, and FIU and other GFCC stakeholders to create and deliver training solutions to meet business needs.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Actively participate in the planning, preparation, facilitation, and overall execution of AML new-hire training
  • Maintain, update, and enhance training materials, including PowerPoint decks, web-based training modules, and training exercises as applicable
  • Coordinate, deliver, and evaluate instructor-led trainings, including input, systems, and process change related trainings
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements to training strategies and the overall training program
  • Maintain day-to-day training operations and come up with solutions to training-related requests and deliverables
  • Support continuing learning and act as a resource for investigative analysts and other GFCC personnel
  • Design and administer training resources using available internal and external tools and capabilities
  • Work with various stakeholders to strategize and optimize efficiency solutions
  • Help gather material in support of audit and exam requests

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with AML investigations and knowledge of criminal typologies associated with financial products and services
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, including collaborating with other groups/partners cross-site and a proven ability to work on multiple projects while adhering to deadlines
  • Aptitude to create and implement trainings
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and experience with conducting clear and level-appropriate communication among a wide range of groups
  • Ability to organize data and conduct data analysis with an eye toward creating meaningful learning solutions
  • A passion and drive for proactively identifying and implementing improvements to the training strategy and the program
  • Excellent editing, presenting, and writing skills
  • High level of professionalism, self-motivation, flexibility, and sense of urgency
  • Understanding of regulatory laws and regulators
  • BA/BS preferred

Depending on factors such as business unit requirements, the nature of the position, cost and applicable laws, American Express may provide visa sponsorship for certain positions.

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually bonus benefits
