The American College of Cardiology is looking for collaborative innovators who are passionate about making their mark on emerging enterprise software products. As the Enterprise Data Architect, you will work as part of the team dedicated to ensuring that we are maximizing efficiency and value of our Data. You will provide hands-on Extract Transact Load (ETL) customization for our member systems and National Cardiovascular Data Registries (NCDR).
The Senior Data Manager is a member of the Enterprise Architecture and Application Development Team, working in a dynamic cross-functional environment to guide the strategic direction and the meaningful use of data.
This position is based in Washington, DC where we have a hybrid work environment (roughly 40% of the time in the office).
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Translate business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, data warehouses, and data lakes
Define the data architecture framework, data reference architecture, standards, and principles, including modeling, metadata, security, and reference data
Partner with other Architects to ensure consistent translation of enterprise architecture decisions to solution architects, conduct solution design reviews, and arbitrate solution design conflicts across domains
Engage with internal customers, scrum teams and senior levels of leadership (both technical and business) with clear communication, appropriate levels of context and explanation, to effect decisions and direction of strategy.
Implement and adapt database systems and architecture as necessary to meet the needs of the College
Establish methods and procedures for tracking data quality, completeness, redundancy, compliance, and improvement
Create strategies and plans for data capacity planning, data security, life cycle data management, scalability, backup, and data archiving
Review information architecture deliverables throughout development process to ensure quality and traceability to requirements and adherence to all plans and standards.
Provide governance oversight to ensure project adherence to information architecture strategy, principles, standards, policies, and procedures throughout all project phases. Partner with other architects to ensure alignment and integration across portfolio boundaries and promote an enterprise focus on data management.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related area (data science, mathematics, statistics, economics, etc.)
Ten plus years of Data Modeling Experience (both physical and logical). Candidate must have experience with designing Data Warehouse schemas (3NF model or other data modeling patterns) as well as Data Mart schemas (Dimensional model)
Five plus years of experience with SSRS, SSAS, PowerBI, and or other data analytic and reporting platforms
Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise data warehouses
Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing enterprise data lakes
Familiarity with Snowflake, Azure, cloud data architectures, and tools
Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases
Knowledge and experience working with ETL processes
Experience with software for reliable, scalable, distributed computing
Demonstrated ability to manage and see-through long-term projects
A willingness to continually improve processes and share lessons learned
Excellent client-facing written and verbal communications skills, particularly those relevant to translating highly technical information for non-technical audiences
3 plus years of experience in healthcare related informatics, performance measurement, or analysis with strong exposure to data modeling
Desired Qualifications:

Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
A willingness and aptitude to learn new technologies
Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented collaborative environment
Experience in Agile software development methodology is a plus
