American Bank Montana is Hiring a Learning and Development Coordinator Near Bozeman, MT

Job Summary: The Learning and Development Coordinator will partner with the VP of Human Resources to support a variety of HR tasks, including taking an ownership role in the design and implementation of specific learning and career development initiatives that support the American Bank strategic goal to attract and retain the best employees.

Essential Functions:

  • Co-create and execute our talent development strategy. Specific initiatives will include manager development, employee development, career pathing and employee engagement.
  • Serve as the point of contact for new employee onboarding – evaluate and modify program as needed.
  • Conducts annual training and development needs assessment and provides management with training gaps and annual training plan to address
  • Researches, plans and coordinates training programs, seminars and conferences for personnel.
  • Confers with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies. Assists employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their positions.
  • Writes initial draft material for new training programs; reviews and evaluates and modifies existing and proposed programs; recommends appropriate changes
  • Develops and maintains organizational communications to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
  • Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and reference works utilizing a variety of media.
  • Coordinates, manages and promotes the use of training library
  • Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
  • Continually evaluates training progress and training procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed.
  • Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.
  • Collaborates with compliance, operations, internal audit and other personnel to understand areas where additional training may be beneficial
  • Maintains training records and prepares reports as needed by management and Examiners.
  • Insures that mandatory training is completed and follows up with managers of employees who are delinquent.
  • Satisfactorily complete all required compliance bank training and comply with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position.
  • Support with other HR tasks and responsibilities as required.

Education and Experience:

  • College background strongly preferred, business or related degree in training/teaching is a plus
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential to be obtained
  • Banking experience preferred
  • Experience in developing, training, leading, inspiring and motivating teams.
  • Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong knowledge of PC skills including Microsoft products

Working Conditions:

  • Work environment is indoors in a clean atmosphere with normal noise levels.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and pressure is required.
  • Exposed to a potentially hazardous condition – robbery. Receives detailed instructions and procedures to be followed to minimize the risk.
  • Normal hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM and as needed to complete responsibilities.
  • Hybrid work possible.

Physical Requirements:

  • Critical sensory abilities are: seeing, hearing/listening, speaking and teaching
  • Mental effort requirements include: reading, writing, basic arithmetic, mathematics, visualizing conclusions, analyzing data, and searching for solutions.
  • Physical dexterity requirements include operating general office equipment such as telephone, computer, scanner, calculator, typewriter, photocopier, fax machine, and postage machine

Travel Requirements:

  • I understand that even though my primary work assignment will be in either Bozeman or Livingston; I agree to go to any other location requested by management. I understand that such temporary re-assignment will require the use of my personal vehicle. If I am requested to spend the entire day at a non-primary location, American Bank will pay for my time spent traveling which is inclusive from the time I leave my home to the time I return to my home. In addition, any time that I use my personal vehicle in such travel, I understand that American Bank will reimburse my mileage at the current designated IRS mileage reimbursement rate.
