Shift: Overnight (7pm-7am) 

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Collects information from the patients to be admitted; and completes the admission process in the EMR.
  • Records health details of patients in the EMR; which usually comprise blood pressure, body temperature, respiration and heartbeat rate among other vital signs.
  • Administers medicines prescribed by the physician to the patients.
  • Assists with sanitary requirements of patients; which consist of bathing, dressing and similar other tasks related to personal hygiene.
  • Identifies client care requirements by establishing a personal rapport with potential and actual clients.
  • Completes Treatment Plans as appropriate.
  • Completes patient progress notes each shift.
  • Documents patient care Services by charting in client records.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care team by communicating information, responding to requests, building rapport, and participating in team problem solving methods.
  • Calls the appropriate team member (physician on call) with all non-life threatening medical and medication issues to obtain his/her plan of action for the client. In the event of a life threatening emergency all staff are authorized to call 911.
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to clients and families
  • Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following philosophies and standards of care set by the state board of nursing, state nurse act and other governing agency regulations. 
  • Protects clients and employees by adhering to infection control policies, medication administration and storage procedures and controlled substances regulations. 
  • Maintains client confidentiality.
  • Payroll scans as defined in policy. 
  • Follows Sunrise House policies and procedures.
  • Communicates detox unit information to Admissions Department.
  • Other Duties as assigned within the scope of practice.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment preferred.
  • Current LPN License in State of operations
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
