Responsibilities:
Job Summary
The Community Relations Coordinator will be responsible for managing public relations (PR) in the local/surrounding community through development, management, and coordination of effective volunteer and community programs, building and maintaining a diverse and engaged community in Lafayette and surrounding counties, and successful provision of local community education events.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Organize and host community learning events in conjunction with Oxford Treatment Center education committee.
  • Develop and coordinate involvement in civic, religious, and government organizations which benefit state and local community
  • Work with local Alumni Coordinator or AAC National Alumni Coordinator
  • Identify needs in the community to inform the continued growth of services at the Oxford Outpatient Office
  • Host and conduct in-service presentations with community stakeholders to raise public awareness of Oxford Treatment Center and its services
  • Attend community networking functions
  • Represent Oxford Treatment Center on local boards and nonprofits
  • Work with Business Development team to assist with events
  • Work with designated staff to further relationships with the local recovery community and develop a volunteer committee to inform improvement to OTC alumni events
  • Network with mental health providers and community leaders
  • Assist in continuous gathering of reviews for OTC and OOP
  • Reports problems to appropriate supervisor.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is expected
  • Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education / Experience:
  • Master’s preferred in mental health, chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or marketing.
  • Community Relations marketing or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
  • Experience managing and recruiting volunteers (preferred)
  • Experience interacting with state and local government, service boards, and community leaders
  • Ability to speak publically
  • Strong event planning skills
  • Highly organized, including the ability to manage multiple ongoing events.
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training within 30 days of hire
  • CPR within 30 days of hire
  • Valid driver license and insurable driving record

Other Work Requirements:
  • This position requires local travel and occasional travel within the state.
  • Out-of-state travel is minimal but could be required.
  • Etta, MS is the home facility of this job however, incumbents may be required to work at facilities other than the home facility.
