GENERAL STATEMENT OF POSITION: Under general supervision, assists in providing an on-going program of activities for our residents with dementia. Takes the lead in scheduled activities for the residents.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Leads resident scheduled activities;
• Consults and works with other departments in implementing appropriate activities as they relate to the physical, emotional and social needs of the individual residents.
• Assists with and supports as needed Community volunteers, Scheduled Entertainers, Resident visitors, and other Employees.
• Assist to load and unload residents onto our activities bus.

MINIMUM TRAINING EXPERIENCE: High school education; some prior Activities experience in senior care community setting is preferred.

CERTIFICATION AND CLEARANCE AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Criminal record clearance or criminal record exemption, as required by law.
• Health evaluation to ensure ability to perform duties.

LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION: Ability to communicate effectively with residents, co-workers, and the general public verbally and in writing.

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY: Must be able to work effectively in a senior care community environment.
