AMBER CHARTER SCHOOLS is Hiring a Talent Manager Near New York City, NY

The Talent Manager (TM) serves as a key member of the Talent Team. The Talent Manager collaborates with the Talent Director and a broad range of stakeholders across the network, nimbly functioning as a leader, collaborator and contributor, based on the evolving needs of the organization. He/she/they will support the entire recruitment process. 

Recruiting and Onboarding

  • Consistently and creatively increase our external outreach and marketing for mission-aligned, effective staff
  • Ensure interview experience is a clearly defined and smooth experience for candidates, from scheduling, through screening, interviewing, thought exercises and offers.
  • Monitor, revise and build interview protocol materials as needed (primarily in Greenhouse).
  • Support the training and preparation of hiring committee members, to include and respect diverse voices and perspectives.

The Talent Manager may also assume other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Talent Director or his/ her delegate.

Reports to the Director of Talent & HR

This will be a hybrid role. There will be remote work and the need to be on site weekly as needed or indicated by the Director of Talent & HR. We are seeking candidates with the following experience, competencies and assets:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years as a talent associate or manager, preferably in an urban charter school network or non-profit organization.
  • Experience with and knowledge of various talent platforms, systems and strategies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs.
  • Familiarity utilizing, managing and leveraging a variety of platforms (Greenhouse, Trnet).
  • Experience working on a cross-functional team / with multiple stakeholders.

  • Great time and task management; an ability to prioritize, manage multiple obligations and initiatives and follow through.
  • Excellent communicator; strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment; flexible, able to work autonomously as well as on a team and to take direction as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail; able to develop and maintain organizational and documentation systems.
  • Strong analysis, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
