Purpose of the role: To deliver excellence in customer service by accurately receiving and completing shipments through processing and loading orders. When necessary build product subassemblies or final assemblies.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Receiving

• Receive all product into the inventory management system
• Complete quality control checks on all new received product by weighing, testing, and checking that they correlate to the accompanying delivery documents, and product specifications.
• Once identified accurately, label the product in preparation for stocking
• Ascertain that received goods are stored in their correct storage areas and in accordance to their item and batch numbers
• Notify management of nonconforming shipments received
• Calibrate or adjust equipment to ensure quality production, using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, or ring gauges

2. Stocking

• Stock product according to product type, placing the product in its designated area
• The product should be placed in an organized fashion, neat, clean, and straight on the shelf, with barcode clearly visible.
• Verify that the product has the correct label and tag placed on or under the product
• Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures
• Assist engineers in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures
• Build packaging for finished products

3. Picking

• Ensure administrative and customer’s guidelines are followed for picking product
• Quickly pick quality products, verifying the product for accuracy in size, quantity and weight
• Scrap items which are damaged, or unidentifiable (take time to identify good magnets before scrapping)
• Clean & Restock empty pick bins as needed during the picking process
• Ensure all cartons removed from inventory (and marked) are scanned out once they are removed from the shelf.

4. Shipping

• Cut needed packaging materials for the day
• Prepare goods to be shipped out along with appropriate paperwork
• Ensure product protection by wrapping and protecting the product
• Verify that the shipping label and the packing slip match.
• Document the weight, shipper and where the product is sent.

5. Cleanliness

• Ensure all barcode controlled items are marked, before discarding.
• Clean all work stations by as you go (C.A.Y.G.)
• Follow all of the daily SOP cleaning schedules

6. Quality and Values

- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
