Amarillo Sod Poodles - Diamond Creations is Hiring a Food & Beverage Operations Manager Near Amarillo, TX

POSITION: Food & Beverage Operations Manager
REPORTS TO: General Manager of Food and Beverage
DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage
SUMMARYThis position assists the General Manager in the oversight of all concession employees, activities, and events for the Amarillo Sod Poodles at HODGETOWN and will provide support when necessary at any other Diamond Concession-managed facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESIncludes the following, but not limited to; other duties and responsibilities may be assigned at any time.
  • Assists the General Manager in hiring and training of all Food & Beverages concessions staff.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work for employees and non-profit groups (includes all scheduling of staff for events).
  • Supervises concession employees, non-profit employees, beer cart vendors, and hawkers for events.
  • Ensure that concession stands are properly stocked, cleaned, and staffed for all events.
  • Maintaining labor costs and budget goals.
  • Attend in-house event-related meetings and relays immediate changes with other departments.
  • Maintaining all Concession equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance.
  • Complies with Health Department Commission and TABC regulations.
  • Knowledge of POS systems; development of in-seat ordering system.
  • Must be creative in marketing, concession signage, and sales displays.
  • Attention to detail and consistency in every aspect of service is a must.
  • The position is very hands-on with excessive interaction with staff and customers during events.
  • Assists the General Manager in Ordering products and equipment and maintaining uniforms.
  • Inventory control.
  • Assists in Beverage ordering and receiving.
  • All other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directly supervises multiple team members in the Food & Beverage Department. 
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Diamond Concessions policies and applicable laws.
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Commending and coaching staff based on performance.
  • Disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Food Service, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Requires at least 2-3 years of management experience in a concession facility servicing concessions for large events.
  • Prior experience with ordering & receiving and inventory control required.
  • Prior experience working with P&L accounts preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of this job.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong orientation to customer service and ability to work with other staff members in the facility.
  • Results-oriented individual with the ability to meet required budgetary goals.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
  • Ability to be creative with marketing presentations and maintain a quality product.
  • Attention to detail and service-oriented.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Moderate to extreme exposure to noise and heat during events.
  • Frequent lifting/pushing/pulling up to 20-30lbs; Occasional lifting/pushing/pulling up to 40-100lbs.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Serve-safe certified within 90 days of employment.
  • TABC commission alcohol beverage permit required to be obtained within 30 days.
COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Proficient computer skills including the ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, fax machines, phones, etc.
  • Operate a personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office software, including Excel.
HOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Travel negligible.
  • Shifts vary – Required to work any shift needed (as scheduled).
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
