Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Private Chef to work full time for a family at their Secondary residence. You must be able to take direction well, have excellent time management and be quick on your feet. The ideal candidate knows how to cater menu items to meet the dietary preferences and constraints of the family.

Position Responsibilities

• In charge of preparing and serving fresh, seasonal, health-conscious meals (lunch, snacks, and dinner) for the family and their guests
• Occasionally assist with breakfast and brunch from time to time
• Manages every aspect of the kitchen, including grocery shopping, kitchen inventories, storage management and pantry stock
• A house-car will be available to complete work
• Direct the operation and organization of kitchen, and all food-related activities, including the presentation and serving of food
• Oversees overall cleanliness of the kitchen area at all times
• Ensures general maintenance of kitchen equipment and service as required
• Assists in sourcing or ordering kitchen supplies and equipment
• Assists with planning and preparing food for parties, holiday meals, luncheons, special functions, and other social events
• Travel will be required to vacation homes to provide meal preparation at those locations

Experience & Qualifications

• Strong cooking background
• Must have formal training in cuisine
• Must have a passion for cooking
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Have the ability to adapting to the family's tastes, preferences and dietary
• Energetic with a strong work ethic
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Ability to work independently
• Adaptable and able to respond to the needs of the principal residents, including having flexible hours and scheduling with the ability to work evenings, mornings and weekends according to the household needs
• Be professional and punctual
• Service oriented, have great presentation and pleasant with great communication skills
• Understands that the outmost in discretion and confidentially is required at all times
• Must be eligible to work in Canada and travel abroad without restriction (including having a valid passport)
