Field Technician
AMA*TechTel, the area's leading telecommunications company, is looking for a self-motivated individual to join our team as a Field Technician in the Lubbock area.
Field Technicians install and troubleshoot data services, telephone services, and other communications services for our customers.
Field Technician Job Responsibilities
- Installation of AMA TechTel's products and services.
- Service and maintenance of AMA TechTel's products and services.
- Assist customers in the diagnosing of customer system and equipment problems.
- Assist other departments when needed.
- Perform normal duties during on call rotation.
- Maintain company vehicle.
- Maintain significant amounts of company inventory.
- Maintain accurate records concerning job activities.
Required Skills
- Basic wiring knowledge (T568 A/B network cabling, T1, 25 pr color code)
- Ability to install cables through walls, ceilings, etc..using guides and leads
- Basic use of butt set, tone/probe, and ability to tone, trace and trouble shoot cabling
- Network experience (setup and troubleshoot basic router, network switch)
- PC experience
- IP Telephony
- Able to use a cable tester to determine viability of wire pairs and troubleshoot/repair when cable faults are present
- Phone system experience a plus (ESI and Shoretel)
- Ability to work independently and manage daily workload in order to take trouble issues to completion
- Company vehicle, laptop and tools supplied
Required experience:
- Installation or networking experience: 3 years
