Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a cost accountant. The Cost Accountant is a critical role responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also establish customer pricing by working closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team. Then this may be the role for you.What you get to do every day- Conduct variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances- Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements- Generate reports for management that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services- Execute standardized costing methodology for all domestic plants- Decide costs of business activity, including raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste- Generate reports comparing production costs to standard costs and analyze manufacturing costs- Design a cost accounting system, and manage the documents and records of the organization- Log a detailed record of collected data- Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program- Determine any changes in cost by analyzing any changes in services or goods provided- Recommend costs and cost savings based on analysis- Perform internal cost audits- Assist in audits and general ledger preparation- Estimate new and proposed product costs
