The Production Supervisor directs and supervises employees during the course of their shifts. Monitors safety to ensure it is always priority. Supervises employees with the planning, development, and deployment of all duties.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Direct supervision of hourly employees.
Maintain a safe work environment.
Monitor daily and weekly schedules in addition to scheduling overtime and weekend work or any scheduled changeovers.
Monitor procedures required to be performed by hourly employees, to ensure consistency.
Monitor all areas of plant safety, cleanliness and order.
Monitor and implement continuous improvement.
Attend staff meetings.
Assign tasks to hourly employees.
Work together collectively with other departments to ensure efficiency/monitor operators to ensure they are keeping up with cycle time and making quality parts.
When necessary, participate in classes and training seminars to learn new technologies and techniques deemed helpful to performance on the job.
Administrative- Paylocity (attendance) make necessary adjustments, maintain roster, ensure finished product logs are being scanned, enter scrap and production, shift communication. Provide necessary paperwork for team to complete their tasks.
Perform evaluations on all hourly employees.
Assist in interviews and corrective actions when necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Provides leadership and coaching to hourly direct and indirect employees. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Skills and Abilities
• Management experience in directing both daily operations and major project work. Direct leadership roles in launching a major product start up.
• Read and interpret detailed customer prints using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
