ALUDYNE is Hiring an Engineer III Near Pleasant Prairie, WI

Description

Provides quality support and leadership for all new and existing products and processes in the plant. Coordinates with the proper company personnel to provide timely and accurate answers for the customers. Leads development and refinement of product specific Quality systems to ensure compliance to customer standards.

Requirements

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:

· Promote safety to all team members, customers, and suppliers

· Operates PC-based software programs including but not limited to: Motic Images, Microsoft Word, Excel, Mini Tab, and PCDMIS

· Support product launches, Engineering changes and/or improvement changes at customer location and ensures Quality systems are updated to compliance

· Assists in training new Quality employees in all aspects of Quality inspections and document training with education and Training sign-in sheets

· Monitor floor to ensure product is produced to customer specification and inspection activities are being conducted in accordance with control plan requirements

· Help to establish breakpoint for non-conforming material

· Lead problem solving activities for customer issues and provide customer with complete 8D
Issue of RMA for customer issues

· Support plant floor inspections and Dock Audits

· Develop and implement preventive actions for plant production processes

· Understanding of customer issues, development, communication, and ensuring adherence to Quality alerts

· Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation

· Devise forms/instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data

· Evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing

· Initiate and implement re-work instructions

· Prepare and submit PPAP per customer requirements

· Obtain PPAP approval for new product and process changes

· Perform/Support root cause analysis methodology using the 8D format

· Initiate claims to suppliers for defective materials

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment

· Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor when delivering information that may be negative to our internal and external customers 

· Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, skills, and abilities 

· Working knowledge of ISO/TS16949 IATF standard

· Proficient in Core Quality Tools - APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC

· Problem Solving tools such as 8D, Is – Is not, Cause and Effect, etc.,

· Ability to effectively interface and communicate with customers

· Ability to manage people and projects

· Excellent written and oral communications skills to successfully communicate with people at all organizational levels

· Knowledgeable in training techniques

· Effective interpersonal skills, including listening and persuasion

· Experienced in quality system and process audits

· Working knowledge of Six Sigma concepts

· Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

· Data collection and statistical analysis; Minitab preferred

· Knowledge of processes used in manufacturing facility, customer facilities, and supplier facilities. 

· Must be able to make good judgment calls concerning parts, quality, etc.

· Must understand basic math and statistics

· Ability to use a calculator and other basic measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers.

Education and/or Experience

· Bachelor's degree in a technical area such as Operations Management, Manufacturing Management, Materials/Supply Chain, Engineering, etc.

· May consider eight (8) years of directly relevant Quality/Manufacturing experience in lieu of Bachelor Degree.

· At least five (5) years experience in a Quality role performing responsibilities that are same as or similar to those listed in the Job Summary.

· Must have knowledge of PPAP, 8D methodology, supplier quality, quality tools, and customer web based systems.

· Must have prior hands-on experience with testing equipment including but not limited to: depth gage, calipers, micrometer, tape measure, product gauges, and CMM preferred.

· High School Diploma or equivalency (HSED or GED). 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Must be able to professionally lead and influence peers 

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this job include working in high places 

· Work in small areas 

· Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds. 

· Excessive bending, squatting, sitting, lifting, climbing, walking, working in oils and solvents and confined spaces. 

· Office environment at workstation

· Typical manufacturing environment when on shop floor

- Elevated noise levels

- Elevated temperatures near ovens and in summer

- Proximity to moving equipment
