Furnace Operator
Peoplelink Staffing Solutions in partnership with the #1 aluminum knuckle manufacturer in the world, located in Auburn, Indiana, is looking for a Furnace Technician.
$21.00/hou r
1st Shift - 6:30 am - 2:30 pm
2nd shift - 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm
3rd Shift - 10:30 pm - 6:30 am
Furnace Operator Responsibilities:
- Furnace operators must deliver molten metal to die cast machines via forklift.
- Maintain proper metal properties and metal levels in melt and holding furnaces.
- Charge main metal furnaces with ingot, molten metal, and scrap.
- Perform metal temperature checks, record temperature readings.
- Assist with metal quality checks by making aluminum pucks for lab analysis.
- Make additions to the furnace when the lab requests chemistry adjustments.
- Clean melt and holding furnaces using flux and removing dross.
- Furnace Operator must perform maintenance and repairs on furnace equipment.
Furnace Operator Requirements:
- 1-3 months related experience and/or training preferred.
- Forklift experience required.
- Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects up to 55 pounds regularly.
- Ability to read, write, perform basic math calculations, and complete visual inspections.
