Data Analyst

Job Summary:

Our client in Austin, TX is looking for a Data Analyst. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

Factory Data is the central team within Manufacturing Engineering that delivers advanced analytics, online algorithms, and strategic decision science critical to Rivian’s mission. To enable that work we build and use Rivian’s Factory Data Cloud - the cohesive platform that enables the tight data and model integrations our factories need to enable to scale with unprecedented quality, speed, and operational performance. Our customers are Manufacturing Engineering and a broad cross-section of Rivian’s organizations including Production, Quality, Product Design, Reliability, and of course ourselves.

  • Work directly with business stakeholders in our factory to build well-loved analytics dashboards (with Tableau, Snowflake) that help solve problems.
  • Work cross-functionally to make design decisions that balance between custom and generic content (solving problems vs. scaling and aligning on standards).
  • Listen closely to user requests and help surface gaps in our analytics data; help craft requirements for new data transformations and metrics that can improve manufacturing.
  • Contribute to our code-based data transformations (with SQL, dbt, Snowflake) to provide user-facing analytics tables.
  • Educate others on how to access our data and use self-serve analytics tools.

What You Will Need:

Basics:

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills in a cross-functional environment.
  • Expertise with SQL.
  • Experience building analytics dashboards that solve business problems (ideally in Tableau).
  • Eagerness to work closely with manufacturing engineering teams and develop domain knowledge about manufacturing processes.
  • Experience using version controlled workflows.
  • Proficiency with R or Python.
  • 5 years professional experience after receiving a degree in a quantitative field.
