AlphaStaff is Hiring a Human Resources Director Near Sunrise, FL

Position Summary: 

The Human Resources (HR) Director will oversee the day-to-day management of AlphaStaff’s corporate HR department and direct the strategic planning and implementation of HR policies, activities and programs to ensure legal compliance and execution of the Company’s mission and talent strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Company’s HR programs and tasks, including employee relations, new hire onboarding, compensation, employee benefits, leave administration, payroll, performance management, culture, health and safety, and training and development programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review and modify policies and practices to ensure compliance.
  • Partner with managers, directors and leadership to appropriately assess HR risks before business decisions are made.
  • Collaborate with leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to culture, staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and technologies in Talent Management. Apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to leadership.
  • Plan, lead, and develop policies, SOP’s, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the Company’s compliance and strategic needs with regards to corporate culture, employee engagement, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
  • Hire and train corporate HR staff and oversee the daily workflow of the department.
  • Drive projects from discovery to implementation, including developing project plans, timelines, and coordinating internal and external resources to meet project requirements (e.g. training initiatives, wellness events, surveys, year-end/holiday events).
  • Advise, train, and direct HR Coordinator in HR related work, including day-to-day functions and project management.
  • Coach managers and directors on critical personnel management functions including providing constructive and timely feedback, managing productivity, conducting performance evaluations, and developing performance improvement plans.
  • Support managers and directors in handling employee discipline and terminations in accordance with Company policy and apply sound judgement regarding business practices, escalating issues to in-house legal counsel when necessary.
  • Analyze organizational trends including the review of reports and metrics from the Company’s HR information/performance management systems.
  • Think creatively and drive continuous improvement to simplify HR processes and create efficiencies within the department and organization.
  • Develop and implement departmental budgets.
  • Facilitate professional development, training, and certification activities for managers, directors and HR staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HR regulations, laws, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience developing partnerships with business leaders, particularly in helping them lead an organization through significant change, and during periods of realignment and growth.
  • Ability to foster trust and create relationships with employees at all levels of the organization and navigate confidential information with professional maturity.
  • Proactive, strong, and curious operational thinker, with a passion for solving problems and building solutions.
  • Commitment to providing outstanding customer service both internally and externally.
  • Comfortable with conducting presentations, public speaking, and training others.
  • Proficiency in human resources technologies including HRIS, applicant tracking, performance management, and document management.
  • Experience with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, chat and video platforms (e.g. Teams, Zoom, Slack) and other cloud-based apps.
  • Specialized training and experience in employee relations, creating and executing training and development programs, talent acquisition, payroll, employee benefits, and workers’ compensation is a plus.

  • Complex Problem-Solving Skills – identifies complex problems, analyzes facts and reviews related information (including reports and other data) to understand the root cause of the problem, and devises practical and comprehensive solutions.
