JOB SUMMARY:

Accounting Manager for a highly reputable bank on Oahu.

The Accounting Manager responsibilities include assisting with the management of the Accounting department, ensuring that financial transactions and records are processed, and maintaining accurate and efficient documents within regulatory compliance.

To be successful as an Accounting Manager, you should have a solid working knowledge of assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reviewing regulatory reports as well as understanding financial and regulatory requirements pertaining to department operations and reporting.

An outstanding Account Manager should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, have strong financial analysis skills, be highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform well under pressure.

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, and EXPECTATIONS:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide financial analysis to determine appropriate accounting entries.
• Contribute to the execution of monthly and annual processes including completing reconciliations, escalation, resolution of issues, and meeting all set deadlines.
• Prepare revenue projections and forecasting expenditure.
• Assist with preparing and monitoring budgets.
• Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
• Assist with monitoring, documenting, and implementing improvements to processes and internal controls.

• Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
• Understand the daily activities of the department and aid in coordinating and managing these activities to ensure daily and period goals and deadlines are met.
• Recommends accounting methods and procedures as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university or higher; minimum of two to three years related work or practical experience and/ or training in accounting or auditing, minimum of one year supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education/experience required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft applications is required.
• Previous banking regulation history
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner
• Excellent communication and analytical skills are a must
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and stress management skills.
• Prior work coming from a corporate banking background, financial and banking industry is strongly desired
• Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
• Ability to train staff
• Ability to work with little to no supervision.
• Experience with Stocks is a HUGE plus
• MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED.

Compensation: Salary 70k based on experience

Standard Work Hours: M - F, 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM

Work location: Honolulu
