Our Ideal Candidate

We are currently seeking a Survey Project Manager to join our team in Prince George. This is an office-based, leadership role to manage the division's survey team, coordinating projects and manpower, establishing design specifications and procuring equipment and material. Field survey work will be required on an as-needed basis for mentoring, troubleshooting, and/or staff coverage.

A Day in the Life

Primary Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and mentor the survey team
  • Coordinate survey project staffing
  • Proactively communicate with field surveyors and project coordinators regarding potential quality control issues and providing mentorship with respect to field and office procedures
  • Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of the survey to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed
  • Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurement and calculations conducted at survey sites
  • Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of the terrain
  • Prepare and supervise the preparation of all data files
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce final as-built drawings for the client, as well as minimal post-processing of survey data and calculating quantities.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Diploma in Geomatics Engineering or Surveying Technology, or equivalent field training
  • Proven construction survey expertise, with previous field experience
  • A solid understanding of modern survey techniques and equipment is a must, including, total station, RTK GPS, and UAV platforms (Trimble preferred)
  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Technical competence, attention to detail, and ability to complete tasks on schedule and budget
  • Genuine team player who will encourage teamwork with the project team plus other discipline staff
  • Business development experience is considered an asset
  • Candidates must be local or willing to relocate to Prince George
  • A valid driver’s license is required
