Job Title: Data Engineer Pay Grade: T1 Job Description: The Data Engineer is responsible for combining internal and external data sources enabling data analysts to create business-relevant insights. The candidate will be able to orchestrate data pipelines, create new data aggregation schemas and propose unique ways to efficiently combine multiple data sources enabling data driven decision-making for internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Extracts and manipulates large amount of data in Python, PySpark and SQL to combine data sources and consistently harmonize digital footprint of Allison products Deploys and orchestrates data pipelines hydrating dashboards, while retaining proper documentation and version control practices Optimizes data delivery methos for data analysts and scientists without impacting day-to-day operation for internal stakeholders Proposes novel ways to deliver business insights, designs new schemas and data models, documents any data discrepancy Performs automated testing following modern software development practices for data consistency, data lineage and version control Performs integration of external services through API protocols Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or STEM related field Less than three years of experience in corporate environment Proven ability in efficient data manipulation in Python and/or PySpark and creating complex, multi-statement queries in SQL Demontstareted ability to create value from data through visualization (Power BI) Managing larger data repositories and pipelines >100GB Primary Location: Indianapolis, IN Additional Locations: Allison Transmission is an equal opportunity employer.
