POSITION OVERVIEW

Alliance Automation has an immediate opening for a Technical Writer at our rapidly growing business in Van Wert, Ohio. The ideal candidate for this role must possess strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, decision-making skills, ability to multitask and work with others.

TOP 5 RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Create technical information that is comprehensive for a target audience

1. Translation of complex machinery into accurate and effective visual aids 

1. Work with customers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to determine appropriate content for our literature

1. Complete projects on time and within budget

1. Research proper use, service and life of equipment components

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES 

1. Create operator manuals, maintenance manuals and troubleshooting guides in both paper and electronic media
2. Firm understanding of design, intended operation, and service of equipment
3. Excellent concepting, proofreading, writing, editing and document layout skills
4. Must be able to manage multiple project timelines and project budgets
5. Create lock out tag out, preventative maintenance, spare parts lists and service content
6. Create and edit photos and videos of equipment
7. Ability to work independently and be self-motivated

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Qualifications/Skills:

• Experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop required
• Strong project management aptitude
• Experience with Solidworks or Solidworks Composer a plus

Education and Experience Requirements:

• A minimum of two years experience in technical writing in an engineering or manufacturing environment
