Our Cooperate Office in Fairfield, CA is looking for an Accounting Manager.

The Accounting Manager position is responsible for hiring, supervising, training, and directing the accounting and DMV personnel. Must be able to apply logical thinking to a wide range of problems, collect data, draw conclusions, and offer constructive opinions concerning day to day activities. Establish atmosphere which promotes customer service. Use accounting principles and practices, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data to complete daily tasks. Use administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, and filing and records management.

Position Tasks & Activities:

  • Oversee all tasks, reporting, and responsibilities for: 

Accounts Payable

  • Review and approve weekly check run
  • Review vendor statements physical and digital and assist in resolving any inconsistencies. 
  • Assist with email management
  • Assist with coding invoices and communication to stores for timely processing
  • Review and assist with month end reconciliations 

Accounts Receivable 

  • Oversee contract closing is properly completed, filed and maintained according to company procedure
  • Assist with bank deposits physical and digital as needed
  • Assist with account payment posting as needed
  • Assist with Credit Agreement processing for new customers as needed
  • Assist with credit overrides on past due accounts as needed
  • Assist with Customer payment coding as needed
  • Assist with mailing of monthly Statements as needed

Bookkeeping

  • Assist with sale and use tax reporting and payments when necessary
  • Review general ledger accounts and make journal entries as needed
  • Save online bank statements as needed
  • Assist with monthly Fuel logs and disbursement reporting and filing as needed
  • Assist with annual budget reporting entries
  • Assist with financial statements as needed

Payroll

  • Review and approve bi-weekly payroll using knowledge of Federal, State, and County laws and regulations to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time.
  • Review bi-weekly reporting and assist as necessary
  • Review and assist with month-end reconciliations 
  • Review and approve Final Checks as needed
  • Medical Billing processing and payments as needed

DMV

  • Oversee that DMV requests are being handled timely 
  • Review and approve payment requests for registrations
  • Review customer payments for Fastrak
  • Oversee title and registration maintenance
  • Ensure Pull Notices are being handled confidentially 
  • Make occasional visits to DMV for processing

General

  • Show willingness to improve SOP in all departments to save on budget
  • Show leadership within our organization and be able to problem solve no matter the issue
  • Show efficiency and attention to detail when reporting to supervisor 
  • Oversee and assist in support of other operations admin duties
  • Conduct and attend department, store meetings upon request
  • Ability to cover any position in the event of an absence or separation
  • Perform other duties as requested

Requirements

  • Accounting or finance degree
  • 5 years management experience
  • 5 years accounting experience
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Multi-entity accounting processing preferred
  • Must maintain a professional appearance
  • Must be solution focused and use mathematics to resolve problems and develop new procedures
  • Effective communication in English both written and verbal. Bilingual a plus
  • Knowledge in Point of Rental, Microsoft Dynamics, and Paylocity a plus.
  • 18 years or older
  • Valid CA Driver license 
  • Valid proof of eligibility to work in the US
