All Chicago Making Homelessness History is Hiring a Vice President of Development & Communications Near Chicago, IL

Description

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

STATUS: Full-time, Exempt

LOCATION: Chicago, Illinois

About All Chicago:

All Chicago prevents and ends homelessness through four signature approaches: emergency financial assistance, community partnerships, data analytics, and training and research. We strengthen our community’s collective efforts to prevent and end homelessness, guided by a vision of impact, influence, and inspiration. As our name implies, All Chicago brings together homeless services providers, non-profit partners, donors, and people with lived experience of homelessness in a strategic effort to make homelessness history in Chicago.

All Chicago manages the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), a system which manages data on Chicagoans experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness and the services they receive. Our team supports more than one thousand individuals with training, helpdesk services, and running and interpreting reports. Chicago also leverages this data to drive allocation decisions, set strategy and policy, and monitor progress toward ending homelessness. We bring a sense of collaboration to our work and actively seek solutions through partnership.

The Vice President of Development & Communications holds primary responsibility for all aspects of All Chicago’s fundraising and communication efforts. This individual works closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to ensure that development and communications strategies align with the strategic plan and support the growth and financial sustainability of All Chicago.

A key responsibility for this role is the oversight and management of the annual keystone fundraising event for the organization, Breakfast with All Chicago. In addition to the annual event, this leader will build upon the culture of philanthropy through the following:

  • Annual appeal
  • Working collaboratively with the Development Committee of the Board
  • Building the major donor pipeline
  • Garnering support for the Ambassador groups for board service
  • Champion the staff giving campaign for pledges

In 2020, with the infusion of unprecedented Federal and State emergency COVID funding, All Chicago grew to an annual operating budget of approximately $72 million (funded by both government sources and philanthropy). Through additional funding, this year’s budget is expected to exceed $40 million. Historically, fundraising totals average between $1.5-2.0 million, resulting from a diverse mix of revenue from events, corporate/foundation grants, the annual fund, and a modest individual major gifts program. This year, there has been tremendous support and the organization is continuing to grow. All Chicago currently has a staff of 90 employees.

Requirements

All Chicago seeks a development & communications professional with a minimum of 10 years post-college work experience and at least five years in a management position in development. Successful candidates will have a proven record of success managing a comprehensive development program in a complex organization. Experience with individual giving and major gifts is important. Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree or CFRE preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between $125,000 and $155,000 and will be commensurate with experience. All Chicago offers a comprehensive benefits package (with some employee contributions) which includes medical, dental, vision insurance and disability. An employer-matched retirement plan and a generous paid leave are also offered.
