The Information Security Engineer is responsible for creating security solutions that support enterprise systems. The Information Security Engineer will build, implement, and maintain leading edge security technologies, lead architectural design, and improve the existing security solutions. This engineer will research solutions, design and implement solutions as well as write technical and operations maintenance documentation. The Engineer will get to focus on security over compliance and evaluate and implement exciting new technologies. This Engineer will also respond to security events both independently and as part of an Incident Management Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with the business and IT stakeholders to balance real-world risks with business drivers such as speed, agility, flexibility, and performance
• Consult with IT, development, and operations teams to ensure that security is factored into the evaluation, selection, installation, and configuration of hardware, applications, and software
• Ensure audit trails, system logs, and other monitoring data sources are reviewed periodically and are in compliance with policies and audit requirements
• Review information security technology issues and failures and make change recommendations to increase efficacy and decrease total cost of ownership of all security systems.
• Consult with leadership to identify new threats and potential mitigating to stay ahead of current threats.
• Manage network based taps, firewalls, network intrusion detection and network intrusion prevention systems.
• Partner with various business units to provide training and awareness of current threats
• Rack and stack of network equipment and servers
• Infrequent travel to US-based regional offices
• On-call duties an required
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience: 

• 5 years experience in a network engineering role or Information security role
• CISSP preferred
• GCIH, GSEC or other hands-on industry certification demonstrating knowledge and ability
• Passion for teamwork and creative problem solving
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects as business needs change
• Familiarity with Cisco, Palo Alto, and other network security technologies
• Familiarity with security technologies like FIM, IDS, IPS, Anti-Malware, etc.
• Effectively manage time and resources
• Must be organized, detailed-orientated, dependable, and flexible
• Continually challenge the security status quo with new innovative idea
