Human Resources Manager
Reports to the Center Director and is a salaried, exemptposition. Responsible for administrationof Human Resource programs involving compensation; rewards; corporateassessments; policy management and general administration. Demonstrates on-going commitment to preparingyoung people for the workforce by modeling, mentoring, and monitoringexcellence in the eight Career Success Standards of: workplace relations and ethics; informationmanagement; communications; multicultural awareness; personal growth anddevelopment; career and personal planning; interpersonal skills and independentliving.
Duties and Responsibilities:
·Demonstratesand abides by Aleut Core Values and operating principles.
·Administersrecruitment, screening and hiring program for all center staff.
·Ensurescompliance with all contractual requirements relative to the human resourcesfunction.
·Monitorsall personnel and employment practices to ensure compliance with federal,state, and local laws.
·Supervisespreparation of all reports required by contract and Aleut Management.
·Conductswage and salary surveys, job analyses and writes job descriptions, upon request.
·Administerswage and salary program; monitors merit increase program to ensure internalequity.
·Administersemployee benefits program.
·InitiatesCenter human resources directives.
·MonitorsCenter worker’s compensation and OSHA programs.
·Administerstuition refund assistance program.
·Developsand implements an effective new hire orientation program.
·Developsand implements staff development and training program.
·Preparesand conducts performance evaluations.
·Attendsin-service training sessions.
·Providesstaff training to center management personnel as it relates to Human Resources.
·Cultivateand maintain a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation, anddisrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
·Clearlycommunicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skillsincluding personal responsibility and computer fluency.
·Maintainsaccountability of staff, students, and property, adhere to safety practices inall areas of responsibility.

Education and ExperienceRequirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or another related field; in lieu ofdegree, six (6) years of Human Resources experience preferably at an exemptlevel in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
•Prefer a minimum of three (3) years Human Resources experience along with a bachelor’s degree.
•SPHR or PHR preferred.
•Labor relations experience and supervisory experience preferred.
Additional Requirements: Skilled in policy administration, compensation, and rewardsmanagement. Must be able to conduct dataanalysis relating to human resources metrics. Ability to compose descriptivereports; use appropriate techniques to implement programmatic activities;verbally direct individuals and groups; remedy dysfunctional behavior;intervene with students in crisis with aggression control/ safe physicalmanagement restraint techniques. Abilityto successfully complete mandated training courses. Knowledge of methods neededto instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescentstudents; of housekeeping techniques and management; to read, comprehend,interpret, communicate, and execute instructions or directives fluently inEnglish.Ability to operate a personal computer.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Position requires an ability to drive anautomobile. In addition, individual must be able to interact with team membersand maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff anddepartments.
Working Conditions: This positioninvolves frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, and kneeling. Occasionally, position involves sitting,stooping, carrying, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Applicant must be able to see,hear, and speak.
Environmental Demands: Position requires ability to spend 5%of work time outside and 95% of work time indoors; ability to withstandmoderate noise levels, including voice levels 90% of work time; ability to workin high temperature settings during the summer months; and ability to work inlow temperature settings in winter months.
