JOB SUMMARY

The Marketing Analyst supports the company by using data insight to guide business decisions. Primary duties include crunching large sets of internal and external data, performing analysis to discover patterns and trends, and making recommendations to the executive team. The goal of the Marketing Analyst is to understand the company’s consumers to help the business optimize marketing spend and increase profits. This role will report directly to the VP of Finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Conduct meetings with business unit leaders to review business problems, obtain requirements/specifications, and craft solutions

· Use statistical methods, finance concepts, analytical techniques, and industry knowledge to develop creative solutions to complex problems

· Leverage technical expertise and innovative thinking to optimize capital deployment to maximize business revenues and reduce expenses

· Prepare executive level presentation decks to advise company leaders on which marketing expenditures will provide the highest return on investment

· Understand database structure and use Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio to create/maintain reliable queries and stored procedures

· Conduct quality assurance, performance testing, and user acceptance testing to guarantee delivery of high-quality reporting and analysis

· Use Domo to create/maintain accurate and up-to-date dashboards that enable business unit leaders to track performance and drive improvement

· Provide ad hoc reports on various market segments by aggregating along identifiers such as region, channel (web, social, email, online communities, …), life cycle stage, persona, etc.

· Respond to urgent requests with timely compensation revisions to meet evolving business requirements

· Provide excellent customer service with timely, accurate, and courteous response to all team members

· Effectively manage shifting priorities, allocate resources to projects appropriately, and keep stakeholders informed

Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

· 2 years working in marketing analytics, marketing operations, or digital marketing (preferably in a related industry)

· Bachelors degree in analytics, marketing, finance, or a related discipline

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Marketing domain expertise: hands-on experience in tactical marketing analytics (marketing mix and attribution modeling, campaign performance analysis, etc.) and consumer-oriented marketing analysis (segmentations, user survey, storytelling about consumers, brand positioning, etc.)

· Experience with hands-on statistical modeling (regression modeling, A/B testing, significance testing, etc.), knowledge about machine learning (predictive modeling, decision trees, classification models, clustering techniques, etc.), and familiarity with statistical research methods (such as conjoint survey models, segmentation survey methods, etc.)

· Understanding of financial modeling principles (NPV discounting, ROI estimation, LTV calculation, sensitivity analysis, profit margin, etc.)

· Fluency in SQL querying with large, complex datasets (Microsoft SQL Server experience is a plus)

· Experience with third-party marketing tools (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager preferred, Adobe Marketing Cloud and Mixpanel also helpful)

· Data visualization experience (Domo, Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel & PowerPoint)
