Albright Stonebridge Group is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Washington, DC

Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will have responsibility for day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable processing, vendor profile maintenance, client invoicing, and expense coding and review. The staff accountant will also support payments, payroll, and month end close processes and procedures. Qualified candidates will be collaborative, with excellent communication skills, understanding of business and accounting principles, and with enthusiasm and determination to get things done.

Responsibilities

  • Perform activities for the day-to-day account payable process.
  • Code invoices and research support documentation, collaborating with stakeholders for approval.
  • Process electronic payments and record transactions.
  • Manage accounting files and documentation.
  • Enter and track contract-based POs utilizing finance systems.
  • Overseeing the corporate credit cards and expense processing.
  • Review all expenses electronically against the company policy and correct misclassifications.
  • Train new employees on expense keeping systems.
  • Troubleshoot any errors with system expenses and monitor approval workflow process.
  • Record payroll entries and adjustments.
  • Support month-end close processes and procedures including but not limited to balance sheet and P&L account reconciliations.

  • Teamwork: Interacts effectively with colleagues at all levels and across firm. Manages ASG team members to work together to produce agreed upon deliverables. Works to create a positive work environment.
  • Firm Contribution: Contributes to the development, administration, and culture of the firm. Takes a leadership role in institution building.

Qualifications

  • Zero to three years of relevant prior work experience.
  • BS in Accounting
  • Highly proficient in Excel and other MS Office tools.
  • High degree of working-level proficiency in writing and oral communications.
