Alaska Christian College is Hiring an Advancement Assistant Near Soldotna, AK

JOB TITLE: Advancement Assistant

DEPARTMENT: Advancement

REPORTS TO: VP of Advancement

WORKS WITH: Annual Fund Manager, Finance Team

STATUS: Part-time, Regular, Non-Exempt (10 hours a week)

PURPOSE: Involved in the daily operations of the Advancement area by processing donations and providing administrative support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in maintaining the donor database, inputting donations, and printing receipts.
  2. Serve as support for fundraising events and mailings.
  3. Work with other areas to ensure that communication on joint tasks is maintained in a supportive manner.
  4. Help maintain good communication channels with constituents via email, phone, faxes, and other appropriate means.
  5. Maintain standard operation procedures (SOP) manual for this position.
  6. Respond to administrative tasks, including making copies, distributing materials, filing, and computer data entry as requested.
  7. Summer Sowers Coordinator Duties (TBD)
  8. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Associate’s Degree preferred or 1 years experience as an Administrative Assistant, development support staff, or finance experience.
  2. Must have good communication skills, both verbally and written.
  3. Detail-oriented, with high accuracy and skill in all work performed.
  4. Functions well in a cross-cultural environment, have a teachable attitude, and is willing to be a team player.
  1. Must be able to work independently and show good judgment.
  2. Must be organized, efficient, and show good time management skills.
  3. Must be dependable with regular, timely attendance.
  4. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); familiarity with databases.
  5. The ability to follow through and carry out projects to completion.
  6. The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

These duties will be conducted in an office environment with limited exposure to hazardous materials. The majority of the shift will be spent seated and working on a computer. Must have adequate sight to meet the responsibilities of the job. Must be able to lift 40 pounds on an occasional basis.

DRESS CODE:

Within the office, “business casual” dress is expected. Jeans are acceptable as long as they are clean and well-kept. If any questions arise regarding what is appropriate, speak with the supervisor.
