Local Route, CDL Class A Driver ($23-$27/hour)

Position Summary:

Primary functions of this position are pick-up and delivery of local freight, using a variety of vehicles. Also assists in loading and unloading trucks and containers; participates in general warehouse and customer service duties.

Assistance in warehouse also required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficient and safe pick-up and delivery of local freight using flatbed truck, box truck, van, tractor trailer or other company vehicle

• Load and/or unload vehicles, trailers or containers as needed

• Move freight within yard or warehouse using forklift or other equipment as needed

• Process any and all paperwork related to freight

• Inspect and maintain vehicle such as gas, oil, coolant, tires, lights and brakes to ensure proper working condition; perform minor vehicle maintenance, emergency repairs and cleaning

Requirements

Preferred requirements

• Class A CDL – At least 3 years of driving experience required
• Clean driving record
• Hazardous Materials Certification and Endorsement
• Forklift Certification
• Air Brake Adjustment Certification

• Ability to push or pull heavy loads (up to 200 pounds) with a pallet jack
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
• Ability to sit in a vehicle for long stretches of time
• Ability to do repetitive motions as well as operate all equipment in a vehicle, which may include grasping, climbing, bending, handling, reaching, hand dexterity, feeling/touching and repetitive motions of the hands and feet.
