Summary: The Production Supervisor ensures that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently. The responsibilities of the job include planning and organising production schedules. Duties and Responsibilities: Oversees the day-to-day activities of the Fabrication, Machining, and/ or Tooling Assembly Departments. Responsible for managing the workforce, setting up schedules on Dayforce and approving time for each employee daily. Ensures that all employees are assigned and charging to the proper job each day. Hold daily meetings to ensure work assignments, safety topics, materials needed, as well as engineering support needed for each area. Responsible for the On-Time delivery for each Department assigned. Provide motivation, support, and guidance to all employees Set ambitious production goals and communicate them to key personnel. Responsible for evaluating these goals with employees throughout the year. Communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management Create schedules for employees to ensure optimum staffing levels Assesses the project resources and estimates hours required. Ensures that the technical specifications of the job are satisfied. Interprets and checks engineering drawings. Recommends designs changes to simplify the machine process. Develops and maintains routings while evaluating lead times to ensure deadlines were met. Evaluates machine shops and subcontracts machining work due to over capacity to ensure timely completion of projects. Deals with all management issues including performance management, training and development and other HR related concerns. Ensures the health and safety of employees in the workplace. Organizes areas assigned and assures that areas are clean and maintained daily. Maintains schedule for training and assures that these training sessions are completed on time. Authorizes and approves overtime hours of employees.Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Work Experience: Similar field preferred. Ten or more years of progressively responsible experience preferably for an aerospace organization.
