AIT is Hiring a CNC Machinist Near Grand Prairie, TX

Job Summary: The CNC Machinists are responsible for the usage of various mills and lathes to manufacture a variety of different parts/tools to meet production schedule needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Utilize measuring equipment used in the industry such as calipers, micrometers, height gauge and other measuring equipment needed to complete work. Sets up and operates all available machine tools and performs progressive machining operations on work involving very close tolerances or unusual requirements. Changes cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed. Ensures product quality to meet and customer specifications. Works in conjunction with the CNC Programmers to establish CNC tool setups and validate CNC programs for use on 3 and/or 5 axis CNC machines. Obtains all necessary tooling, correct drawings and any special instructions. Sets up, understands the CNC program and operate CNC lathes and mills, manual mills, lathes, and grinders. Detects and reports faulty machine operation, defective material and equipment, drawing discrepancies, and other unusual conditions to the CNC Machinist Leader. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Work Experience Requirements: Three to five years of related experience and/or training. Work Conditions: Work Hours: Standard work schedule, overtime may be necessary for meeting deadlines. Physical Demands: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Operate a motor vehicle and/or heavy equipment. Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping. Read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
