 AIMS Companies is currently searching for a talented Safety Manager, Houston. Safety manager provides a vital support service for AIMS Companies. This individual will be responsible for Field Safety compliance, safety training/practices, OSHA compliance and conducting safety audits/job site inspections for the assigned branch.

Safety Managers support crews by visiting project sites and assessing working conditions and safety related issues and risks. Once risks are identified, they work with the project leadership to design solutions to mitigate the exposure to those risks.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

1. Hazard Assessments: Preview projects and project sites before work begins to determine safety related risks.
2. Examination of Workplace Review: Review the crews Examination of Workplace document, which is a MSHA requirement at each workplace location.
3. Safety Audits: Visit active projects sites to assess ongoing work conditions to ensure compliance.
4. Mitigation Plan and Process: Work with project management teams and field workers to develop and implement solutions to safety related issues, or risks on project sites.
5. Inspect Equipment: Review equipment inspection records to confirm compliance and or observe unsafe conditions.
6. Investigate Incidents: Discover root causes, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
7. Recommend Solutions: Identify and communicate solutions, new improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures.
8. Record-Keeping: Maintaining safety related paperwork including OSHA 300 logs.
9. Safety Training: Maintaining safety training certifications.
10. Recognize and Discipline Non-Compliance: Recognize and discipline crew members who fail to comply with minimum safety standards. 

Skills and Abilities Required:

1. Certification in OHST,CSST,CHST or COSS preferred
2. Three or more years of safety experience – industrial or refineries preferred
3. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements
4. Experience as a field approved trainer, OSHA 10/30, OSHA 40 HAZWOPER
5. First Aid/CPR certified
6. The ability to communicate effectively both in written and spoken format.
7. The ability to listen well and take in feedback from the employee perspective without passing judgement.
8. The safety manager must be able to maintain good records of all safety related activities.
9. The safety manager must have the ability to access heights, climb ladders, stairs, scaffold, etc. to gain access to work areas and crews in elevated locations.
