JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Program Assistant
Reports to: Project Manager
Classification: Hourly Full-Time (Non-Exempt)

AIMS is a non-profit organization that supports playful, imaginative, creative, human-centered, and socially-informed approaches to teaching and learning mathematics and science, and policies and practices that are culturally-relevant and transformative for our Central Valley. With over 30 years of experience in PK-12 STEAM education, AIMS helps educators design rich and engaging learning environments, provides resources to communities and families, and bridges research and practice with colloquium events and research fellowships.
Position Summary
AIMS seeks a highly organized and motivated individual to support the planning, preparation, and delivery of educational services across a variety of projects and partnerships. The Program Assistant will prepare and organize materials, supplies, equipment, and events for a variety of AIMS educational programs according to instructions from educational staff and the Project Manager.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit; use hands for clerical duties and keyboarding. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Acute hearing is necessary for telephone and in-person communication with callers and community members, and visual acuity sufficient to read a computer screen and paper documents.
This position typically functions indoors in an office environment with light to moderate noise associated with business office equipment. The position may involve travel for meetings and events. A valid driver’s license and DMV check for driving record is required.
