Location: Remote - USA Job Title: Risk Adjustment Coder (multiple openings) Job Description: Position Summary: Coding is for agilon’s health Risk Adjustment/Burden of Illness (BOI) program. Coders will follow the agilon health coding workflow and guidelines, applicable to their EMR process (concurrent vs post-visit coding review), to ensure coding consistency and accuracy across all markets. Coders are responsible for all supported conditions (ICD codes) that map to an HCC at an encounter level. If the coder cannot complete this coding without further provider clarification, the coder will consider querying the provider for more information Some Coders will perform auditing and monitoring of contracted vendors or other entities that perform various coding services for agilon health. Essential Job Functions: Verify and ensure the accuracy, completeness, specificity, and appropriateness of diagnosis codes based on services rendered. Review medical record information to identify all appropriate coding based on CMS HCC model. Complete appropriate paperwork/documentation/system entry regarding claim/encounter information. Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving ability regarding barriers to receiving and validating accurate HCC information. Support and participate in process and quality improvement initiatives. Maintain a comprehensive tracking and management tool to track all HCC activities and ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Performs AHIMA compliant queries to providers when necessary Participate in ongoing training and education within assigned timeframe May participate in special project auditing as required All other duties as assigned Other Job Functions: Understand, adhere to, and implement the Company’s policies and procedures.
