The AgFirst Human Resources team supports the Bank,, our partner Associations as well as Farm Credit Benefits Alliance, a cooperative between the AgFirst and Farm Credit Bank of Texas districts, which is comprised of 33 independent agricultural lending companies representing 4,500 employees in 17 eastern and Gulf Coast states. The Vice President, Human Resources Operations position provides strategic leadership and guidance to the organization’s HR operations. Pursues corporate alignment with values, mission, and vision through relationship building, staff development, role modeling and the implementation of corporate policies and procedures. This includes ensuring the HR operations and shared services are aligned to support and drive business growth and targets.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides counsel to the CHRO on HR functional unit operations and management. Develop and sustain a robust HR infrastructure that drives people engagement, well-being, retention and business expansion
  • Partners with business leaders and outside vendors to drive HR Operations initiatives across AgFirst, the AgFirst District, Farm Credit Bank Alliance (FCBA) and Association partners
  • Actively participates in activities to understand service needs and continuously improve performance
  • Identifies key performance indicators for the AgFirst’s HR operations and shared services functions; assesses the success and market competitiveness based on these metrics
  • Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, and employee incentive programs
  • Identify cross-functional HR opportunities to improve interaction, efficiency, and effectiveness across other HR operational areas
  • Drafts and implements the budget for the human resource operations department
  • Facilitate and monitor the implementation of standardized human resource processes while promoting automated advancements and metrics
  • Work with the technical team to design, integrate, and implement human resource software systems for better efficiency
  • Creates a climate which provides direction; champions new initiatives; encourages others to change and serves as a catalyst of change; manages effectively in high-change environment
  • Provides guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues
  • Provides governance, oversight, counsel, and alignment to assigned AgFirst committees, boards, and councils
  • Act as a liaison between Associations, HR operations and COEs to ensure HR services are aligned with internal client needs

Requirements

  • MBA, JD or MHRM or similar graduate or terminal degree
  • 10 years of substantial business impact with progress relevant work experience
  • SPHR, SHRM-SCP, Change Management, Project Management preferred
  • Strong track record in proactively leading, strategic thinking and translating strategy into program delivery
  • An understanding of operational excellence within HR Shared Services processes and practice. Strong analytical, interpersonal, conceptual, project management and communication skills
  • Well-developed management skills including the ability to lead, influence and communicate
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and manage a portfolio of projects in a fast-paced environment, adapting to shifting priorities
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Preferred HRMS, Oracle, Cornerstone OnDemand and/or other Service Delivery System experience
  • Able to drive consensus among key stakeholders with diverse needs and interests
  • Demonstrated ability of relating to and consulting with members of all management and employee levels within the organization
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Ability to lead cross divisional and cross functional teams either directly, or through indirect influence
  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities and customer service orientation
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
